The History of Unisula
Unisula, or Universitas Islam Sultan Agung, was founded in 1965 in Semarang, Central Java. The university was established by a group of Muslim intellectuals who wanted to create a higher education institution that combined Islamic values and modern knowledge. At first, Unisula only had one faculty, which was the Faculty of Education. However, over time, the university has grown and now has multiple faculties.
The Vision and Mission of Unisula
The vision of Unisula is to become a leading university that promotes the integration of Islamic values and modern knowledge to produce graduates who are competent, innovative, and have a strong character. Meanwhile, the mission of Unisula is to provide quality education that is based on Islamic values and produces graduates who are capable of contributing to the development of society.
The Faculties of Unisula
Currently, Unisula has ten faculties, which are the Faculty of Education, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Psychology, and Faculty of Islamic Studies. Each faculty offers various undergraduate and graduate programs.
The Campus of Unisula
Unisula has two main campuses, which are the Kampus 1 and Kampus 2. Kampus 1 is located in the heart of Semarang, while Kampus 2 is located in the outskirts of Semarang, in the Ungaran area. Both campuses are equipped with modern facilities, such as lecture halls, libraries, laboratories, sports facilities, and dormitories.
The Student Life at Unisula
Unisula has a vibrant student life, with various student organizations and activities available for students to participate in. These organizations range from academic clubs, such as the Law Students Association and the Medical Students Association, to non-academic clubs, such as the Photography Club and the Music Club. In addition, Unisula also has regular events, such as the Unisula Cultural Week and the Unisula Sports Week.
The Admission Process at Unisula
The admission process at Unisula varies depending on the program and the level of study. Generally, prospective students must first apply online and submit their high school or undergraduate transcripts, as well as any other required documents. They will then be invited to take an entrance exam, and if they pass, they will be invited for an interview. The final decision on admission is based on the applicant’s academic record, entrance exam results, and interview performance.

Some notable alumni include Siti Nurbaya Bakar, the current Minister of Environment and Forestry of Indonesia, and Bima Arya Sugiarto, the current Mayor of Bogor. In addition, Unisula also has a strong alumni association, which serves to connect alumni and provide opportunities for networking and professional development.
